Her 1500-meter freestyle performance, however, was just over 20 seconds slower than her career-best time of 16:15.87, achieved in April 2022. Sims also made waves in breaststroke, notching career-best times in both the 100-meter and 50-meter events.
On the boys' side, Major Monroe, a 13-year-old from Boulder City Henderson Heatwave, secured several lifetime bests and wins. His 50-meter and 100-meter fly times, 28.35 and 1:03.99 respectively, were his fastest ever, showcasing his prowess in the butterfly stroke. Monroe also swam his best times in the 200-meter fly and 200-meter individual medley, further cementing his status as a rising star in the sport.
Another notable performer was Joshua Brown, a teammate of Sims at the Sandpipers, who achieved a best time in the 100-meter fly (58.31) and strong performances in the 400-meter free, 1500-meter free, and 400-meter individual medley. Allen Gyang, a Michigan commit, added five wins and three best times to his meet total, including victories in the 50-meter free, 50-meter back, 100-meter back, 50-meter fly, and 200-meter individual medley.
